My ripe tomatoes have small irregularly shaped cloudy white spots just under the skin? What causes this and what can I do to prevent it.

Aah… I think insects are feasting on you tomatoes. More particularly the green stink bug. You can recognize this critter by the armor shaped green shell. Look carefully, it is the same color as the plants. The best method of control is to hand pick them off the plant and dump them into soapy water. Don’t crush them or you will find out why they are called stink bugs. Diatomaceous earth will kill stinkbugs and if your infestation is really bad you may want to use an insecticidal soap.
